Hello and a Happy New Year! (*･▽･*)
As I have set myself the challenge of spending my free time more purposefully I have started to read again! Also I got a kindle for Christmas, so I immediately had a new enticement! :D
I want to try and bring a bit more content to this blog, so here's a fresh book review for you!
I already finished reading a book this year, yay! ( ᐛ )و
Title: Cobweb Bride
Author: Vera Nazarian

(Taken from Goodreads:)
Many are called...
She alone can save the world and become Death's bride.
Cobweb Bride is a history-flavored fantasy novel with romantic elements of the Persephone myth, about Death's ultimatum to the world.
What if you killed someone and then fell in love with them?

I felt like it wasn't entirely gripping me with excitement during the first 50 pages or so, but it was continuously entertaining nevertheless. I guess I felt that way about it in the beginning, because bit by bit different characters and their storylines were introduced, which is interesting, but not the most thrilling content in the world. As the story progressed that feeling faded and I hungrily turned the pages until the end!
First I have to say: very well developed characters! There are no annoying or too foolish ones; Not only the protagonist develops interestingly throughout the book and the characters' journey, but also some of the secondary characters undergo unexpected changes.
I think one of the things that I enjoyed most about reading this book is Vera Nazarian's constant ability to paraphrase events. Through reading this book I stumbled across a lot of unknown vocabulary - probably also due to the fact that it is set in the Renaissance era.
All in all a very pleasant read, I have already started reading the next part of the trilogy! :)
I hope you liked my review & that this might inspire someone to pick up a book!
See you soon! ヾ(･ω･*)ﾉ
