Lolita Blog Carnival - What Would You Change About Your Wardrobe

Welcome back to another LBC post!

This week I'm going to talk about what I would change about my wardrobe!

I have been part of lolita fashion for about 9 years now and  have thus hoarded a good amount of clothes so far. As I like a wide range of styles my wardrobe is not very cohesive, yet there are certain themes that occur quite frequently (- for instance biscuits!)

🎀 I'd like to add more blouses of different colours to my wardrobe. I am aspiring to have lots of items to create quirky coordinates and I think that having a good array of blouses is essential for that!

🎀 I don't own too many high-knee or overknee socks to go with my outfits. As my wardrobe holds a variety of styles I'd like to add some more to fit with plenty of coordinates.

🎀 Last year I sold all of my red lolita shoes at my community's bring&buy events and haven't gotten any new ones yet. I had sold them because they didn't fit me comfortably and this year I'd like to get some comfier ones.

🎀 Some of the colours in my wardrobe are a bit harder to coordinate for me than others - for instance dark pink or yellow, as I don't have many pieces incorporating pink/yellow altogether. Therefore I'd like to get some items to compliment certain pieces.

🎀 Back when I moved into my appartment my brother had surprised me with putting up the wardrobe while I had been away on holidays. That was super nice and I wouldn't have been able to do it by myself as the doors are very heavy. The problem is that the rack has been put in pretty low and therefore my dresses don't hang as high as I'd like them to be and there is little space for my bags underneath. I'd like to change that - but I just see myself doing that in case I'd have to disassemble the wardrobe for a move as it would be too much of a hassle otherwise.

Regarding my main pieces there's not really anything I'd change. It's generally a mixed collection of impulse buys and dream dresses, but I have no purchases that I regret. I do have a hoarding problem and I don't see myself getting a grip any time soon -  I guess also due to the fact that I just like so many styles! And I have admitted to selling my soul to Emily Temple Cute, there you have it! (*≧▽≦)

Thank you for reading! (*・▽・*)

Here are this week's participants:

  1. I've been in Lolita a while as well (11 years now!) and agree with a lot of what you wrote! Most of the changes I'd like to see in my wardrobe are finding complimenting pieces like socks, blouses and boleros that expand the wearability of what I have. Great post!

    1. Thank you for the nice comment :)let's hope we'll both achieve many of our wardrobe goals this year!

  2. What a lovely post! You addressed some of the things that I would change about my wardrobe too. Mostly adding blouses and other socks to make my wardrobe more diverse. I hope you are able to work on your wardrobe a bit this year to achieve your new goals!

    1. Thank you, Poppy! It's funny but I tend to forget about blouses, socks and everything else and fall back into buying main pieces so easily xD I hope I'll stay strong this year, haha!
